Does adopting a new language mean replacing your first language? For a number of students, the emphasis on learning English at school may often lead to a slow (or quick) loss of their home language. Discover how intentional translanguaging practices can counteract this language loss. Participants will explore key factors in language loss, practice designing translanguaging-inclusive lessons, and gain practical tools to deepen students’ linguistic and cultural identities.
